• Kuala Lumpur

In the terminal of Kuala Lumpur we buy a trainticket for 55 Ringet pp and we meet a man that is more than happy to show us the way to the train. He travels in the same direction so when we arrive at KL Sentral he shows us the way to the Monorel and tells us where to get of. The Monorel is a lot cheaper, 4 Ringit pp, and looks like a Amsterdam metro. Traffic in KL is the worst and because we arrived around 18:00 there was no way we could have taken a taxi. We need to get off at Raja Chulan and walk in five minutes to the hotel, an enormous thing with a nice pool and good reviews. Can’t wait! In KL they don’t use the number 4 in floors, so we are on floor…

  • Gimme some shots

Here they are, 408 Malarone tablets for a Malaria free worldtrip. Well in time, you could say… we just couldn’t wait 😉 Last week we received our vaccinations and decided to also order the Malaria tablets as well. After I finally found our yellow vaccination books we made an appointment with ‘Thuisvaccinatie’ (vaccination at home) for Friday afternoon between 14:00 and 18:00. Very convenient in your own home, but that time in the week is asking for trouble. And yes our prayers were answered, the needle lady calls us at six after a long afternoon of waiting that she is in a traffic jam. Sigh… well, wait some more. When she finally arrives at a quarter to seven she does not seem to have all the vaccines with her. Although we never had problems with ‘Thuisvaccinatie’ before, this was a…

  • A passport for free

Checking off something on our list of preparations; Jos has a new passport! A straight face for the picture and then with a big smile to the town hall. The lady at the desk had questionmarks all over the place, your passport is still valid for one and a half year mister. Oh really?! It was hardly a dilemma. We don’t want any trouble with a different passport number on our flight booking or visa, so we’ve decided to replace the passport now. The new passport will be valid for 10 years, so we can continue traveling for a long time. And, because there’ll be many stamps *smirk* we need enough space, so Jos now has a big fat thick business passport just like me with 64 virgin pages for no more than a Euro a piece. Nah, bargain for…

  • He says I DO!

For a long long time I dreamed of it… a new chapter in my life, being free, in search of the big unknown, the two of us. I visualize us on a tropical beach under a couple of palm trees at sunset… Me and myself, we’ve discussed this idea very often, could I? Should I? Now, after thorough consideration, I finally popped the question to the love of my life: do you… want to go on a worldtrip with me? A journey through all continents, all cultures, exciting adventures you can then share with eachother. Creating new memories for the rest of our days, exiting stories for our grandchildren. Great adventures and an occasional trip outside your comfort zone to discover that you are still alive. Every day a new sunrise somewhere on this globe with the question, what will…
